Sui Overflow, the annual global hackathon hosted by Sui, has officially kicked off its 2025 edition!
This year's event will run for 8 weeks from April 1 to May 25, with winners announced by late May. Each track will award 4 teams, with prizes ranging from $30,000 to $7,500. Additionally, 10 university teams will each receive $2,500**, and **10 community-voted projects** will earn **$2,500 rewards.
Last year’s Sui Overflow hackathon saw 352 project submissions, with 32 standout teams advancing to the finals. The 2025 edition introduces new tracks reflecting Sui’s rapidly evolving ecosystem and emerging trends. Notably, Walrus’s decentralized storage technology unlocks innovative possibilities—participants are encouraged to leverage both Sui and Walrus in their projects.
Beyond track-specific prizes, this year’s hackathon features community voting and university team awards, further incentivizing groundbreaking ideas!

Develop core Sui ecosystem tools—IDE plugins, no-code platforms, and other solutions to streamline development.
3️⃣ AI Track
Merge AI with Sui and Walrus to create intelligent agents for unprecedented automation.
4️⃣ Cryptography Track
Leverage Sui’s native privacy features (ZKPs, randomness) to build secure, high-performance applications for digital assets.
5️⃣ Degen Track
Meme coins, viral Web3 culture projects—think Bored Apes, racing dogs, or underwater critters!
