At 17:13 on September 22, Kusama’s 8th parachain slot auction concluded! After a 15-minute randomized "dice roll" to determine the final winner, Basilisk secured the slot by locking approximately 222,222 KSM at 17:28. Within two hours, Basilisk will connect to the Kusama relay chain and begin block production as a parachain.
Shortly after, the Kusama Council voted to approve Motion 358 at 17:52, initiating the network’s 9th slot auction. As of now, Altair (Centrifuge’s canary network) leads the bidding with 120,987 KSM, followed by Heiko (Parallel’s canary network, 108,281 KSM) and Kintsugi (Interlay’s canary network, 42,781 KSM).
